Privacy notice

Talking about how you feel takes trust. This notice explains, in plain words, what Rootarya collects, why, and how we protect it.

Last updated October 2026

What we collect

Your phone number, name or nickname, language, country and time zone; who covers your plan; the sessions you book; and the notes your counsellor keeps. Voice notes and messages are stored so your counsellor can reply.

How we use it

To match you with a counsellor, run your sessions, keep you safe when there is a serious risk, bill whoever pays for your plan, and improve the service using anonymous totals.

Who can see it

Your counsellor and, when needed, their clinical supervisor. Your employer, university or agent never sees what you say or whether you personally used the service.

How we keep it safe

Session notes, voice notes and messages are encrypted. Calls are never recorded. Staff only see what their role needs, and access is logged.

How long we keep it

We keep your records while you use Rootarya and for a limited time afterwards, as counselling rules require, then delete them. Website enquiries are deleted after twelve months.

Your rights

You can download or delete your data from Settings, ask us to correct it, or complain to the data protection authority where you live.
